Who does what?
Directorate for Consumer Protection
The Directorate for Consumer Protection, as the authority responsible for consumer legal protection policy, creates an environment that informs and protects consumers.
It works actively to ensure a regulatory framework that safeguards consumers’ rights in commercial transactions, both within the EU internal market and at national level.
Luxembourg Consumer Union (ULC)
The Luxembourg Consumer Union (ULC) is dedicated to the protection, representation, information and education of consumers in Luxembourg.
As a representative organisation, it also represents consumers before public and political authorities. The ULC informs you about your rights and assists you in the event of a dispute with a professional established in Luxembourg.
European Consumer Centre (ECC) Luxembourg
The European Consumer Centre (ECC) Luxembourg informs you about your rights and provides free assistance in the event of a dispute with a professional established in another EU country.
It is part of a network of 29 European Consumer Centres within the European Union, as well as in Iceland and Norway (European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net)).
The ECC is co-financed by the European Union, the ULC and the Luxembourg government.
